A current river report from Group Three’s MWF pres Tim “Four More Years” Aldrich:
thanks Ron. I friend and I just returned from three days of fishing for Chinook salmon over on the Clearwater River by Orofino. The flow in the Clearwater provided a great fishing opportunity. The water was low for this time of year and was absolutely clear. In 10 feet of water, you could see the multi-colored boulders on the bottom. There is still ample snow in the very high elevations, but Lolo Pass is almost without snow. I suspect that absent some really heavy rains during the Extravaganza, flows will still be providing the great fishing opportunity all participants want to see. On the way home Friday, we drove along the Lochsa River, Lolo Creek and the lower Bitterroot River and all were absolutely gorgeously clearr and remarkably low. By the way, we did catch 7 very nice Chinook salmon, one of which provided dinner for my wife, son, his lady-friend and me on Friday evening. I'm sorry, there is no catch and release for those tasty salmon. I hope all is well "up the Creek." tim
