Bragging Rights: Bill Dodd
Napa County Supervisor Bill Dodd displays the 31-inch, 14- or 15-pound bull trout he caught and released in Montana's Blackfoot River during the 10th annual Rock Creek Extravaganza, a fly fishing trip with people mostly from throughout the Bay Area. They fished two days on the Bitterroot River and one the Blackfoot River and had excellent fishing all three days. Dodd said he caught this fish in a drift boat on a nymph, that it took 15 minutes to land, and that it was the largest fish caught by any of the 80 anglers on this year's trip and tied for the largest in the event's decade-long history. He fished with his wife, Mary, and said she also caught and released some great fish.
