Once again, as he has now done for us for the past five (count ‘em!) year, John “The Great But Propaneless” Gould and his cadre of Double Up Outfitters guides have outdone themselves in providing safe, timely, friendly and fishy boats for our Extravaganza use. This year, John sheparded over 100 boats for our E-12 usage, each with sterling performance and each with bounty to show. In consideration for his faithfulness and thoroughness, shown above is Rock Creek Ron presenting Propaneless with an Extravaganza special—one of 80 (count ‘em) 5 wt 8’3” special edition Sweetgrass Mantra bamboo rods (complete with monogrammed case and Able reel) that highlighted Extravaganza 2012.
All of our extravagant thanks, “Mr. Guide”; and the gods are smiling on you as well, for after as many years, you were (finally!) the winner of our Tenth Annual Fly Casting Contest (prophetically co-sponsored by thee and me!).
