A Winter Wonderland: Why We Fish During the Summer Months!

Greeting Fellow E-12ers from Extravaganza headquarters where, as you can see from the attached photos, it is, indeed a winter wonderland (and precisely why we fish during the summer months around here)!!

Post that wonderful, “lights out” Niner victory on Monday Night (was that a special football game, or what?!?—Go Niners!!) , your wonderful Hostess With The Mostess and grabbed a scheduled (very) early morning Tuesday flight only to arrive to relatively shockingly cold temperatures and to awake this morning to the most wonderful snowfall that you could imagine.  Temperatures should hit a resounding high of 21 degrees today with lows to be in the single digits; and, to further mark the contrast, unlike during the summer months, when it is light outside until after 10:30 p.m., today’s sunset on this penultimate shortest day of the year will be right around 4:45 p.m.

As we look ahead to this coming Christmas weekend, please receive the attached pictures of it all as our supplemental Holiday Card together with our wishes to each of you and your families for a safe and joyously festive season.

Extravaganza 2012 (nearly sold out, btw)  is now just six short months ahead (in fact, Group One flies home exactly 6 months from today!) and, with plans well beyond well under way for our to-be historic tenth Extravaganza, believe you me E-12 will show up prominently on each of your personal 2012 highlights reel!!

Best to all from the scene of it all,

Rock Creek Ron

Announcing the Dates for Extravaganza 2012!!

On the cusp of the New Year, I am pleased to announce the dates for Extravaganza 2012, our tenth foray into the wilds and wonders of Montana.  As has been the lineup layout for the past several years, E-12 will consist of three groups of 22+ fisherfolk, and has each group fishing three days with our wonderful Double Up Outfitter guides and supported on the land by our great friends at the Rock Creek Mercantile (whose links are on the sidebar of this our brand new E-12 website).

Here are this year’s dates:

Group One travels to Missoula on Saturday, June 16th, fishes Father’s Day Sunday June 17th as well as Monday the 18th and Tuesday the 19th, returning home on Wednesday June 20th.

Group Two travels on Saturday, June 23rd, fishes Sunday the 24th, Monday the 25th and Tuesday the 26th, returning home on Wednesday June 27th.

Group Three travels on Sunday, July 1st, fishes Monday the 2nd, Tuesday the 3rd and Wednesday the Fourth of July (hosting that day our annual Fourth of July pig roast and Casting Contest), returning home on Thursday, July 5th.

As of this writing all but three of the 66 available E-12 slots have been filled with both seasoned veterans as well as a wonderful array of incoming rookies, setting the plate for a(nother) lights-out event.

Oh, so much more to follow. So stay tuned!!

Viva la Extravaganza!!

Best to all,

Rock Creek Ron
